Tarry for the Nonce

In Addition to the Teleprompter . . .

. . . the President needs a spell checker and some blinders.

  1. If Obama were more like a Republican, he’d quit midterm due to blogger criticism and “take a hike on the Appalachian Trail”.

As far as his staff making typos, maybe you can help them set up a review process workflow. Also, you know that one’s staff can do much worse things.

The video should be watched to put the criticized picture in context. Where Neo failed, it seems he passed.

  2. Yeah, this kind of stuff reminds me of “potatoe” and doesn’t really move me. The State Department faux pas were a bit more relevant to competency.

Palin has been far worse, though she’s not President. Speaking of Palin, the most logical (and kindest) explanation I’ve heard is that she and Alaska are being inundated by frivolous ethics complaints and lawsuits. Anyone know if that is a valid excuse?

What video, jh? Is the Matrix reference that everyone falls the first time?

  3. He’s talking about this video. The video does indeed indicate that the President was not ogling. He was turning around to help another woman down the stairs.

It’s refreshing to see any level of popular media attempting to understand context. Usually, it’s beyond their ken.

As an admission, I – being generally interested in context for just about any news story – had searched and found this video before I posted the original blog. The opportunity was just too entertaining to pass it by.

Fortunately, I am not bound by any standards of journalistic integrity.

  4. Thanks, Laura. It seems you’re bound by some standard of integrity. Like Hebrew National hot dogs. 🙂

  6. Thanks, jh, I remember that one now.

But Neo should’ve kept looking in that case, so he’d catch the pseudo Agent Smith sneaking up on him. I guess sometimes it pays to ogle. 🙂
