Can you spot the fake smile?

I got 15 out of 20, which is probably not a good track record.

Don’t put your money in the wrong vending machine.

[N]ow, you can finally get what you really need: medical marijuana, from Anytime Vending Machines . . .

The AVMs are already in place at their respective dispensaries and will be fully-operational by Monday, though their vestibules are still under construction; future plans include machine-vended pharmaceuticals like Vicodin, Viagra, and Propecia

A Flaming Tragedy

As a bomber, one might ask oneself the question: “Do I still get to be a shaheed if I die on the way?”

Of course, one must be alive to ask such a question.

A would-be suicide bomber fell down a flight of stairs and blew himself up as he headed out for an attack in Afghanistan, police say.

It was the second such incident in two days . . .

Roe IQ Test

I got 11 out of the 12 questions correct for a 91.67%. I missed the one about which country makes it the easiest to obtain an abortion. I didn’t choose the obvious answer. Silly me.

Starbucks is selling a $1 cup of coffee in response to competition from McDonalds(!)

And free refills too. Could this be the beginning of the end?

A Longer Absence

Filed under: Rambles — lmwalker @ 12:47 pm

Thank you to everyone who was concerned about the silence on this blog. There is a story.

The web host I use(d), Digital Space, sold itself to a company called Jumpline. Jumpline ranks up there with the worst companies under the sun. Perhaps recognizing their own incompetence, they choose to migrate people to the “new and improved” control panel immediately after they pay their bill for the coming year. In July, I did this. And in July, my website ceased to function under Jumpline’s convoluted and completely unusable web setup. Everything broke: my web site, my email, my photo site. Everything.

After playing email tag with their unresponsive tech support (who closed my tickets as “resolved” without ever actually fixing anything) and trying to post on their support forums (where unhappy customers have their posts deleted,) I gave up on the company as a whole and moved all the files to another web host in October, but it took some doing to restore the existing blog content.

Anyway, I’m back, happy to be here, and can’t wait until I catch up on all the blog ideas I’ve been storing up. I know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats.
