As the World Turns

Would you get dizzy living in a spinning tower?

Time Residences, whose construction will start next June and end in the first quarter of 2009, will be “a building that moves with the power of the sun” to become “the only rotating residential structure on the planet,” they said in a statement.

Sounds intriguing, but I get motion-sick playing an FPS!

  1. That’s pretty kewl… allowing observers to use the building as a … time piece

I don’t think you’d have to worry about motion sickness. The speed of rotation looks fairly comfortable:
drive the rotation mechanism to provide 360-degree views to every resident,” moving 52 degrees in 24 hours…which equates to 2.16 degrees/hour.

Figure it would take 6 days 22 hours 4 minutes and 48 seconds to complete 1 revolution at the rate of speed indicated in the article.
