The smallest fish looks more like an inchworm:

Researchers have found the smallest known fish on record in the peat swamps of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Individuals of the Paedocypris genus can be just 7.9mm long at maturity, scientists write in a journal published by the UK’s Royal Society.

In other news, land snails have an interesting mode of air travel:

Land snails, not the quickest of creatures, managed to travel from Europe to remote islands in the South Atlantic by hitching rides on birds . . .

The arrival of the snails on the islands predates their discovery by humans. So the scientists believe the European snails which cannot swim or fly traveled the 9,000 km (5,592 miles) to the Tristan da Cunha islands on birds.
