Choosing Your Neighbors’ Spending

Filed under: News — lmwalker @ 3:03 pm

I am trying to remember if I know anyone in Colorado besides Liesel Reinhart and Mike & Lynn Anderson (nee Schumacher):

Colorado voters agreed Tuesday to give up $3.7 billion in taxpayer refunds over the next five years to allow the state to bounce back from a recession, ignoring the arguments of fiscal conservatives who say the government doesn’t need more money to spend . . .

Supporters said Colorado simply could not afford to vote no, not with higher education, health care and transportation already suffering from millions of dollars in budget cuts.

With 76 percent of the expected vote counted statewide, 439,778 voters, or 53 percent, had approved the plan, compared with 391,842, or 47 percent, who voted against it.

For those unhappy 47%, my advice is: move to Wyoming.

  1. Umm, Liesel is out here by me, not in Colorado. BTW, have you ever been to Wyoming? Colorado is actually somewhat cool, and the LoDo area is not too bad (LoDo = Lower Downtown = cool Lincoln Park-ish area not too far from the joint campus of CU-Denver, Metro State, and Denver Community College). Wyoming is, umm, not exactly cool but Colorado definitely has its perks.

Had a bunch of debate tournaments there post-COD.

True, but I thought she was originally from Colorado. Maybe she just was educated there . . .
